Wednesday Want

Ever since a friend introduced me to her love for this Mulberry bag, I've been seeing it everywhere and loving it more and more over time! Add this to my "dream" list...

Randoms

Some random shots from last week... It's getting too cold to hit the beach! I'm going to definitely miss the summer days. Personally, daylight is my favourite and I love the long days.

Is it just me, or is everything way cuter in miniature form? Normally, I would never pick up a toad!

I'm already longing for next summer...sigh! Any amazing last-minute summer plans guys?

Fresh + Friday

I was feeling like a fresh new change since hitting the one year mark. It's just a few minor changes, but what do you guys think?

I need a sweet bike basket like this to enjoy the last weeks of summer and this is exactly what I would fill it with! I'm sad that summer is coming to its end soon, but fall is a beautiful season.

Have a fresh weekend everyone and I'll be back with more postings next week!

Summer's Ending...

Hey everyone! Sorry, I've been MIA this week so far. Trying to squeeze in the last hurrahs of summer as the hot & sunny weather is dwindling away. I hope you're all enjoying your week so far & I'll catch up with you all soon!

P.S. Thanks for all the sweet blogaversary comments!

1 Year Blog-aversary!

It's late Sunday night and I just realized that I've hit my 1 year blog anniversary!

In the past I was a horrible blogger! I would start blogging, get self conscious about what I was writing and delete it, or I wouldn't be very committed and ignore the blog until I eventually deleted all the posts and started all over again! (I know, what a bad blogger right!?).

So me and my messy hair just want to say thank-you to anyone who has read or reads this blog and everyone who comments and keeps me encouraged, because somehow I've kept it up for an entire year! Sending all you readers tons & tons of love!

Best Wishes

I was sad to hear that Heather from olive & a would not be blogging any longer to focus on family, but am happy that she is focusing on something so important! Here's to wishing her the best until she hopefully returns to her blog one day. :)

Wednesday Want

I've been wanting new boots for a long while and these would be amazing if I had the budget for them! A girl can dream though!

Blueberries!

The fam and I + the bf went blueberry picking on the weekend! I have yet to go strawberry picking (sadness!), but my mom loves blueberries and the season just opened.

My momma actually wears cardigans ALL THE TIME, no matter the occasion. Exhibit A: blueberry picking and still wearing a nice cardigan!

Sisters! Meet my oldest of five. She's like a second mom!

Finally a flattering photo of my guy (Haha kidding)! Okay, not really kidding because he's one of those people who you ask to look at the camera, you snap a shot and he either has his eyes closed or his face is distorted in some sort of mid-facial expression lol!

The one thing I love about growing up is learning to appreciate and love your family in such a true way. I really enjoy family things more than ever nowadays.

Hope everyone is having a good Monday! How was your weekend?

More Hair Talk + Friday

I'm on a hair-kick this week. This is the perfect amount of hair wave-age and makes me want my long hair back. So perfectly romantic and easy for everyday wear!

But everyone I talk to says they loved my short hair better! Thoughts?

Before 30

I've always wanted to bury a time capsule, dig it up one day and look at what I wanted to do/achieve so and so years ago. But as I approach the big three-oh in a few years (Is 30 still the new 20?), I find myself thinking about all the things I want to learn/do before I turn 30. Here's the ongoing list (in no particular order):

1. Learn to swim.
2. Travel to Hawaii.
3. Learn to play either the piano/violin/ukelele.
4. Get married.
5. Try an outrageous hair-do (pixie cut?).
6. Improve my Cantonese.
7. Learn Mandarin.
8. Learn to read & write Chinese.
9. Get some abs (I've always wondered if I could do this!).
10. Travel to Hong Kong.
11. Travel through Europe.
12. Plan a surprise party for someone.
13. Learn sign language.
14. Meet a new friend.
15. Start my own vegetable garden.
16. Buy a house with a backyard so I can do #15.
17. Throw a dinner party.
18. Learn calligraphy.
19. Memorize this song (I've always wanted to since I was a kid!)
20. Ride in a hot air balloon.
21. Play a tennis match.

Braided

I've been meaning to learn how to do a fish-tail braid for the longest time! But then I cut my hair and that ceased to happen. Lately, for laziness' sake, I've been putting my hair up in a high bun when I don't want to straighten it.

What's your current everyday hair-do?

Adorable Girl + Friday

My sister sent me this photo because she fell in love with the adorable asian girl in the red dress and so did I! I used to have that exact haircut as well! I can't wait to have a daughter one day so I can dress her as fashionable as this little model is.

Have an amazing weekend everyone!

Food Lovin': Cookie-Stuffed Cookies

I don't know if this is an amazing idea or one you end up regretting later, but I have to admit I must try it...! Just take your favourite chocolate chip cookie recipe and go crazy!

Moccasin Heaven

I was in moccasin heaven last week when we stopped by a general store that sold hundreds of leather mocs!

While we were at the (according to R but not me) amazing pizza place, I noticed an ad for a moccasin store nearby and we decided to check it out. I can't say I even love moccasins or anything, but I always thought they were moderately cute and comfy. I preferred to own a real pair though, so I was actually excited to check out this amazing store full of moccasins. After some driving around aimlessly, we managed to find it and got out of the car excitedly only to find it was CLOSED! Argh!!! I was so disappointed, sigh.

But on the way out of town later that night we passed by a general store that sold moccasins (first thing listed on their sign)! I went inside expecting the few at the front of the store to be it, but in the back R found a crazy stock of moccasins! I was in moccasin heaven.

Unfortunately, I left with nothing in hand because they were real leather and real expensive, but I enjoyed trying them on and considering pairs for future purchase instead!

A Little Camping

Happy Monday friends, I hope you all had a great week/weekend! I've been enjoying time off with my guy (since he's on vacation) and taking in some outdoor goodness.

We took a little trip to Silent Lake Provincial Park last week and had ourselves a little campcation. As you can see, I stuck to the supervising as R did all the set-up work! But it wasn't all fun and games for me since I ended up with this fat-finger thanks to those blood-sucking mosquitoes! (Argh!):

Notice the fat top finger. It stuck around for about a day and a half. :(

The next day R decided he wanted to venture into Algonquin Park since we've both never been there and he really wanted to see it! So on the way we stopped by one of his favourite pizza places, which he loved and I found just okay.

We drove into and around the park later on and enjoyed spotting our first moose! But it was so far off that the photo was just plain pathetic with only a 50mm prime lens in tow. At least we spotted some too-cute for words frogs/toads! I would love to go back and check out the rest of the park sometime.

How was everyone else's weekend?
