Wednesday Want

I would love to run around in this outfit found in J.Crew's "Looks We Love". I wish I were as tall as this model though! But I accept the fact that I am forever vertically challenged. :)

I'll probably be off camping or adventuring for the rest of the week, so have a great rest of the week friends!

Animal Lovin'

We did some canoeing on Friday and saw some animals (one of my favourite things about canoeing)! I love seeing an animal for the first time in real-life. It's sort of amazing to me. Here's a blue heron we spotted a few times.

On Saturday we attended a family BBQ that R's family has every year. It's actually the first year I've ever attended and I always find the first couple of minutes awkward when you're sort of the odd one out. But then I played with a cute baby and rocked this game! I ended up having a great time!

And speaking of animals, I hung out at my parents' place yesterday and my sisters and I spotted this little fellar chillaxin' in his mid-fence-walk. He was so hilariously cute!

Melting + Friday

It's so scorching hot here, that I swear I could have passed out waiting for the bus yesterday! I hope this weekend cools off a little because this 40 degree (104 F) weather is making me melt!

I think I'll be canoeing with my guy lots this weekend (that's me relaxin' in the canoe) since he's on vacation, maybe camping, and also fishing! I admit, I do like fishing now and I never thought I would. I guess it does have a bit of that excitement you get from sports.

Food Lovin': Bibimbap

I was seriously craving Korean food yesterday and lo and behold Sandy happened to have this recipe posted! I haven't made any Korean dishes before, but I think I can manage this one.

Pretty + Printed

Remember when I talked about this freelance position I got a couple months ago? Well the issue is finally out! So if you're in Canada and happen to stop by a magazine stand, go take a look at it for fun! I was seriously excited just to have my name printed in the masthead. Pre-print, I was running all these crazy scenarios in my head, like "what if they spell my name wrong!?" (They didn't). I'm really happy to see it in print and excited to have been a part of it!

Ombre Nails

I'm loving ombre nails. Can't wait to try it! Perhaps a more subtle fade for me though.

Update: I searched for a fairly simple tutorial and found this one. But I seriously need some practice! The blending has not been perfected, or I may need a better middle colour...

More Ariah + Friday

My little niece is almost 3 months old now and getting chubbier by the minute! At 1 week she looked so different than she does now.

I was just going through the almost three hundred photos I  snapped of her on Tuesday and thought I'd share my faves. I agree with my cousin who says that she has so many funny faces!

She has a funny smirk to one side rather than a full smile!

For all the baby girls out there, I think they all need this sailor baby dress! It also comes in a boy version that's equally as adorable from H&M. Just sayin'...

Her daddy wanted more baby feet shots, so I obliged. Babies have the cutest feet!

Petite Thursday

Ever since I discovered the high waisted belt (way back when), I've never looked back. It takes any frumpy looking top and makes it look instantly better and being so short, it doesn't hurt that it gives me the look of longer legs! It's a staple in my everyday wear now.

I used to never EVER wear belts! But that was probably because I don't like the bother of regular belts. But I'm warming up to them and also tucking my shirts in (which equals once again, longer legs)! I love my (small but useful) belt collection!

Pretty Picnic

Hello all! How was your weekend? This picture is what I would have loved to be doing this weekend, but my guy works on Saturdays and it was cloudy and rainy yesterday! But I can't wait till I can have a picnic this summer, although it probably wouldn't be full of lobsters... :)

Food Lovin': Paletas + Friday

Yummm...! I just learned about paletas today: A paleta is a Latin American ice pop usually made from fresh fruit.

These sour cream, cherry + tequila ice pops would be perfect for this weekend! I would probably omit the tequila and substitute strawberries for the cherries though!

Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canadiana friends out there! I put together a collection of some things for a Canadian-inspired day:

1. Show some spirit with this red dress.

3. Add some red nail colour to your day.
4. Make a Canadian flag pizza. Yum!
5. Bake some Maple Leaf Cookies.
